Bikini Wax Pain

Do you avoid waxing because you can’t stand the pain? Some people just have an incredibly low tolerance for pain. And a bikini wax is way too much of a hurting.

So what should someone like you to do to ease the pain of a bikini waxing?

1. Try a hard wax instead of a regular soft wax. It’s less painful in my experience. Of course, pain treshold may vary so take my word with a grain of salt. Don’t blame me if it hurts just the same!

2. Take a pain reliever before your session. Try a strong one like a 500 mg Advil or two for good measure. See how it works.

3. Ask your salon for local anesthesia. Of course, they likely won’t acquiesce. In case they do, realize you’ll have to fork the anaesthesiologist for their fee.

4. Just shave. Ask your husband or boyfriend to do it if you’re afraid of cutting yourself. Start with an electric shaver to cut the hair down then with a good shaver. Use gel to get a clean, close shave.

P.S. Just remembered. Your skin is way more sensitive before your period. You may want to do it a good two weeks before your regular programming!

Hard Wax Vs Soft Wax

Not sure if it’s just my skin type but hard wax is really ideal for me when getting my bikini wax done. I’ve tried several salons over the years and only one of them offered the hard wax. Guess where I’ve been having my sessions since?

I really recommend you try it. Look for a spa that uses hard wax instead of soft wax and fabric strips. Hard wax dries to a hard finish around the hair and not the skin. As a result, they can scrape it right off with little pulling and yanking. Way less pain, promise! You end up with much less redness, irritation and bumps too. Even better, you can walk like normal right after. LOL!
